I think you all remeber my first special about my alltime fav. sunglasses the Alpina M1!!!

Today its time for the 2nd Special and this time its not about a COOL FRAME that everybody loves, no, its about a COOL GUY that everybody loves. STEVE WONDER was born in 1950 and is known all over the World as a great musician. His first recored was recorded in 1962 so he only was 12 years old and since this time there was no stopping for him as musican and componist. But thats not the only reason im posting this here, you all gone know, it about his style of shades he is wearing the 70's and 80's.
I really was suprised when i was searching for photos what kind of styles he was rocking. Some of them is well known and i can easely name them but there are a lot i dident could identify. Maybe one of you can tell me a frame so i could expend my knowledge about vintage frames.

First of all my and Stevies alltime Fav. the Alpina M1 in Black with golden Screws. I once talked to a manufacter of the M1 and he called the M1 the "Steve Wonder Galsses".

That was a Pic i was really supriesed and happy about. He was wearing a white Cazal 951 and it seems like they had mirroed Lenses. Really rare these days.

And another Classic for these days. Its a Porsche Design 5620 produced by Carrera in the 80's. This cool Stunners was made famouse by two people in the 80's. First, for all you HipHopHeads:

These are my new "Technic Design created by Alpina"!!! Yes thats the name, but as you can see its says SURF, and thats why there are those amazing blue swimmers on them, it protects them from drowning. So if i will lose them on my Surfboard i will get them back.

First i saw this Model of maddnes from Alpina on Solaris great Blog in two different colors and i love them.

And Corey form the VintageFramesCompany decided, that its a Creme de la Creme Frame!!!
Now i call them my own in a 3rd colorway and as a surf-version. I was wondering if the Grey one is a Surf or not. Anyway in white they are the Best!!!
Those Alpinas are f...... HUGE!!! They have about the size of the Porsche Design 5620.

Ferrari F27-S Folding Made in Italy Red/Brown Gold 1980's

Its the 3rd Ferrari Frame I Post on my little Blog but i think it will not be the last. All Ferrari-Shades i found till now really stand for themselves, just like the cars.
The F-27 S is a folding Model with a Red/Brown and golden Frame made out of plastic and metal. They are not that HUGE and they have a really classic typ of shape. The best detail on this great Vintage Eyewear is the Horse, it stays in the middle even if you fold the whole frame together.

Alpina M1/8 Made in W. Germany "Rare as Hell"

I already told you all about my love to the Alpina M1, its my Fav from day one, but what you see here is a somthing really special!!!

Its a Alpina M1/8 as far as i learned it was only made cause of an anniversary of the Alpina Company and only gave away to spacial shopholder or customers...i dont know if its the truth but they are really rare so it sounds like it could be.

I know three colorways of the M1/8. The White, the Black and the Golden one, all 3 have the tortoise decor as you cann see on the white one. These are really really ill!!!

Dunhill Shades are very hard to find these days and i think its because they are really one of the best vintage brands ever. The Dunhill 6069 are one of the coolest i have ever found since i started collecting vintage shades. With the square Lenses they look classic and high class. i love the combo out of the optyl-made frame and the gold metal right next to the lenses.

Dr.Shapiro says:

But this great piece is not out of optyl its made out of titan!!! The material is one of the strongest and lights materials ever. All of the early Titan Frames are producted in Japan cause they where the first who found a way to weld this fine material.

The Color of this Frame are a very yellow Gold with a detail of chopper colored titan.

There are a lot of oldfashion sunglassesbrands out there, but when it comes to quality, for me it seems like zeiss where on top of the game in the 80's.

If you ever had the chance to get your hands on one frame of the competition series of zeiss you will know what i mean.

the temples are adjustable, the details on the frame are fantstic, the combo out of gold and silver rocks and they feel like they are build to last!!!

The first vintage shades i had where a pair of Alpina M1`s. I found them on a Fleemarket im my hometown. I rocked them without knowing what kind of classicpiece a found for one Euro!!!
After a while i realized that Jay Z is rocking the same Pair of shades in his "show me what you got" video. So i started searching for them and now im an addict to all of these vintage glasses.

Now i know that Jay Z is wearing the small version of the M1 but i really like the Big Ones better!!!

This is how a Photo of a Frame looks like, when I take a little more time for it!!!

I would say the Carrera 5595 is a classic to me, even if you could say that all vintage carrera-aviators are classics. I own them in 3 different colorways in Red, matt black and in an ivory-colorway. But i know there are some brown and other reds out there. I really like them, they are huge and i love big aviators. the temples are golden and the logo in the middle too.

in the new on "Rick Ross (feat. Robin Thicke) Lay Back, he is rocking a white Cazal 951, a Bausch & Lomb Wings in Black and i think some Cartier Glasses in the end.

It would be no suprise for me, if Ross got all of that from the Pope of Vintage Eyewear Corey Saphiro.

Sometimes i surf thru the net checking all of these "Celebrity Sunglasses Sites" just to check who is wearing some vintage stuff or wich company steals designs from old shades and than im wondering, why do those site sometimes take a pic of a celeb and tell me the name of the frame even if the frame dosent even look like the frame they name?
I hope you got me!?

For example:

Brad Pitt wears many shades when his in public, some are vintage some are new, some i never can find out what it is, but, in one case a site named SunglassesID.com (i really like the site), tells me that Mr. Pitt is wearing a Tom Ford Pablo even if a blind man can see that the Frame on his nose isent even looking like the frame they try to sell.
Just see for your self:

Do you think those two frames are the same!!! NEVER!!! The funny part is that this kind of mistake brings me to another thnig i was wondering. How can it be that some Frames today realy looks like a copy from the past.
Ok, there are some great companys around and to use a desgin from the 70's, 80's or even the 90's to be inspired and to creat a cool vintage looking frame is ok, but to just steal a great shape its really not ok.
Im saying that, cause some do and i dont know what brand the shades on Brads nose are but when they are new (if you know it please let me know and dont try to tell me its a Tom For Pablo), they are just a copy of a Metzler SportVision from the 80's Made in West Germany.
I already showed that frame on my blog but i thought i post it again that you can compare them to the other frame.

What do you think, they look really familir to me.
Im gone post once in a while the one or the other mistakes and copycats on my blog. I would be happy if you let me know what you think about all of that.

Damn, those are the shit!!!
Even if the ALPINA M1 are my most favorit Sunglasses from Alpina, those are almost as big as the M1s!!!

The best part on this Glasses from the ProCar Series is that the temples and the width of the nose are adjustable. So they really fit great!!!

The Rodenstock Supersonic Series is a really great line of different Styles. There are a whole lot of fantastic shades in that series but for me the 1755D in this colorway is the king of them!!!
The detail in the middle of the frame is made out of a piece of goldbrown/sandish plastic and i think its the dot on the i for that Style...but the whole shape of this stunner rocks!!! And if you ever have the chance to wear them, do it they feel f...... comfortable!

Another Sportstyle by UVEX. The detail is fantastic it changes the color from one to the other direction its blue and purple. Just a great idea even if its not the best shape of a frame ever the 32L got its own kind of coolness.

Great Folding Aviators. Uvex stands for „ultraviolet excluded“ and its an old german company. I learnt that uvex is the Mothercompany of ALPINA one of the greatest shadesproducers of the 80's.
This great gray pair of Sunglasses is a wonderful Sportstyle 75 Folding, a very light frame and a really hugh aviator. I feel like they are really rare. I love aviators in this size, they fit me best!

Sometimes its hard talking about a frame, even when they are so fantastic!!!
This White and Black with Glitterlook Metzler Frame is.... it came with a spotband to clip on so its fits perfect in every situation. As you can see they have a black and a really white line milled i to the frame, its a real great detail!!! I love them espiacally cause my last name is METZLER too!!!

This is a great pair of Boris Becker shades, Boris gave his name to 4 different styles of sunglasses in the 80's produced by polaroid. all 4 styles came in 3 different colorways and each with changeable lenses in this brown and a dark gray/greenish one. The colorways of the frames are gold, silver or black. The A version is the Golden one, B the Black and C the Silver version.

They are from the early 90's one of my younger frames, i love the golden logo in the middel and that the templets are in a different color then the frame. These mannequin shades are fantastic, the color of the lenses are light purple to pink and the frame is like a royal-blue, in the mix with the perly looking temples and the big golden M they are one of my nicest shades in my opinion.
I think these are for ladys but i rock them anyway!!!

One of the greatest vintage Eyeglasses if ever seen. The colors are Yellow/Orange and the whole thing has almost no weight. Just great.

The Stratos is one of my fav. Alpinas, they are almost as good as the Alpina Goldwings but only almost.
